Senior Software Developer

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining scalable, secure, and high-quality enterprise-level applications. This role requires expertise in full-stack development using modern frameworks and technologies, with a focus on backend services, frontend components, and database integration. The developer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle to deliver robust solutions that meet business requirements and comply with accessibility and security standards. Responsibilities:

• Translate business requirements and technical specifications into scalable, secure, and fully tested full-stack applications.
• Develop detailed technical designs and programming specifications.
• Write, review, and maintain clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Build and enhance data-driven applications and backend services.
• Design and execute unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure quality and reliability.
• Design and implement modern, responsive frontend components using React or Angular.
• Develop robust backend services and APIs using Spring Boot and related frameworks.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across development, testing, and production environments.
• Support application deployment, data migration, and system integration activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams through code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Ensure all solutions meet security, performance, scalability, and accessibility standards including AODA compliance.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and standards.
• Provide technical support for implementation, system integration, data conversion, and migration activities.

• 10+ years' experience developing n-tier enterprise applications.
• Expertise in application design, latest design patterns, deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Strong hands-on experience with JPA/Hibernate and Spring Boot Framework.
• Proficient in database design and SQL development with PostgreSQL, PL/pgSQL, and Azure Cosmos DB.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks such as React and Angular.
• Experience gathering and documenting requirements from business stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration patterns.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
• Experience in unit testing, integration testing, and test automation (JUnit, Mockito, Jest, Playwright).
• Ability to produce technical documentation and design artifacts.

• Experience building cloud-native, internet-facing applications.
• Agile development experience including Scrum, user stories, continuous integration, and test automation.
• Experience with middleware, API gateways, or integration services.
• Experience leading design walkthroughs and technical discussions.
• Knowledge of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and WCAG standards.
• Familiarity with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with ability to contribute to technical leadership and quality assurance.

• Position requires onsite work at the designated office location.
• Must be available to work 7.25 hours per day within standard hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday, excluding lunch breaks.
• Ability to provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Compliance with accessibility and security standards is mandatory.
