Vehicle Mechanic

JOBSUMMARY : Performs all phases of maintenance and repairs to Masonic Care Community vehicles and engine driven equipment. ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS : Inspects automobiles, trucks, and related company equipment to locate and determine the extent of necessary overhaul repair. Performs general maintenance and repair work on gasoline and diesel powered equipment such as vans, trucks, wheelchair buses, lawn tractors, mowers, chainsaws, weed eaters, and other company owned equipment. Repairs cooling, fuel, electrical and exhaust systems; tunes engines using standard equipment. Diagnoses, repairs, and maintains hydraulic systems on equipment. Performs preventive maintenance work on vehicles, including lubrication and oil changes. Fabricates and welds to repair equipment as necessary. Performs basic body work. Cleans and maintains the garage area and equipment. Inventories, orders and controls tools, supplies and materials for garage; researches, compares and locates parts. Maintains records on all maintenance and repair work performed; gasoline usage, recall and warranty work. Operates snow plows and other company equipment. JOB QUALIFICATIONS : High School Degree. New York State Driver's license required. Two to five year's experience repairing vehicles, lawn and small engine equipment. Experience in welding. Two to five years experience in vehicle operation, i.e. trucks, snowplows.
