Since 2015, Northeast Nurses Association (NENA) has helped more than 5,000 healthcare workers form unions in their workplaces. Made up of four healthcare workers’ unions across the Northeast, we are committed to new organizing and to helping workers build the collective power to improve their workplaces.

We are seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Organizer who believes in the power of workers standing together. You will build trust with healthcare workers, identify and develop leaders, engage activists, and help guide organizing campaigns from the first conversation through a successful first collective bargaining agreement.

What you’ll do

• Put strategic, on-the-ground organizing plans into action and advance campaign goals.
• Build lasting relationships with healthcare workers; identify, recruit, and develop workplace leaders across departments and units.
• Follow up on organizing leads, assess worksites, and deepen engagement among supporters.
• Develop and carry out grassroots strategies that strengthen organizing campaigns.
• Help workers anticipate and respond to employer anti-union messaging and intimidation tactics.
• Apply knowledge of federal and state labor laws relevant to hospital organizing.
• Build relationships with community allies, including labor, faith, and elected leaders.
• Maintain accurate, timely campaign records and contact data; track results and provide daily progress updates.
• Plan and evaluate your work, and participate in staff meetings, retreats, and Board meetings as requested.

What you’ll bring

• A commitment to worker organizing and the ability to build trust across diverse groups of healthcare workers.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively throughout the Northeast.
• A reliable working vehicle and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to manage campaign details, maintain accurate records, and communicate progress consistently.

Salary: $85,000 – $107,000, depending on relevant prior experience
