Brayman Construction is hiring a full-time Area Safety Representative to join our growing team. This position is based in Saxonburg, PA, with assignments on projects throughout the Pittsburgh region. The role will initially be assigned to a project in Cincinnati, OH, for eight months before returning to the Pittsburgh area.This Area Safety Representative position earns a competitive salary. If this sounds like the right job support opportunity, apply today!A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AREA SAFETY REPRESENTATIVE The Area Safety Representative will foster and maintain a proactive approach to safety, promoting an employee-centered safety culture. Reporting directly to the Corporate Safety Director, this role will support and assist the field workforce by conducting safety training, assessing jobsites for hazards, and implementing corrective measures.Summary of Area Safety Representative Duties & Responsibilities:Conduct new employee orientations and ensure compliance with site drug testing programDevelop and conduct training as needed at the project, including, but not limited to, fall protection, confined space, personal protective equipment, first aid/CPR, signal person, and Hazard CommunicationWrite review and modify site-specific safety policies and proceduresEnsure jobsite compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations as well as Corporate Policies and ProceduresLead incident investigation efforts & document findings, and assist in developing lessons learned to help prevent recurrence.Job site safety inspections (inspection of power tools, cords, hazards, etc.)PPE inspections, order, replace, and administer trainingSummary of Area Safety Representative Required Skills & Abilities:Seeking a detail-oriented, excellent communicator with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and take initiativeCandidate must be willing to accept travel to the job sitesThe Site Safety Representative must have a comfortable working/teaching knowledge of the following: Hazard Communication, Use of P.P.E., First-Aid/CPR & AED, Trench Shoring, Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Fall Protection, Blood Borne Pathogens, OSHA Regulations, Forklift, Silica, and Mobile Cranes.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel), PowerPoint, and other related computer softwareArea Safety Representative Required Education & Experience:5+ years of safety experience in the general construction industry, preferably civil infrastructure and heavy highway construction or BS in Safety with 3 years of relevant experience30-hour OSHA Construction safety class or its equivalentOSHA 500 Trainer and First Aid CPR Instructor preferredFor a complete job description and list of responsibilities, please visit our career page at BRAYMAN CONSTRUCTION We are a leading heavy civil and geotechnical contractor with office headquarters in suburban Pittsburgh. This position may require working at heights, in confined spaces, around heavy equipment, around chemicals, which require a government permit, around high voltage, and under constantly changing circumstances. This position may also entail project site work at night and on weekends on an as needed basis.
