Facility: GSS ND Larimore Ctr Location: Larimore, ND Address: 501 E Front St, Larimore, ND 58251, USA Shift: Varies Schedule: PRN Weekly Hours: Varies Salary Range: $22.00 - $28.00 Job Summary The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse. The MA delivers age-appropriate care related to the physical and psychological needs of the resident as per the plan of care. Responsibilities include assisting with basic health care needs such as bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing, vitals, psycho‑social support, and personal care. The MA also assists with transfer, repositioning, walking using correct techniques and equipment, performs range‑of‑motion and passive exercises, prepares food, and creates a positive dining experience for residents. Additional duties include administering prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse within state-regulated scope, documenting outcomes, communicating changes in condition or medication follow‑up, collecting non‑invasive fluid specimens, gathering vital signs, providing housekeeping and laundry services, assisting with wellness and recreational programs, and participating in committees or task forces as needed. Qualifications High school graduate or GED (preferred but not required). Minimum age18preferred. Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred. Satisfacts yearly department-specific competency testing and maintains minimum 12 hours of continuing education annually. Maintains all department-specific certifications; a valid driver's license and auto insurance may be required. State-specific certifications: Iowa: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with State Board of Nursing and Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course. Minnesota: Nursing assistant certification, 75‑hour course, registration with Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry, and Trained Medication Assistant course. North Dakota: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with State Board of Nursing, Certified Medication Aide/Assistant course, Medication Assistant I for Assisted Living/Basic Care, Medication Assistant II for skilled nursing facilities. South Dakota: Certified Medication Aide (CMA) course; CMA certification must be maintained. Good Samaritan and Sanford nursing facilities: Certified / trained medication aide certification (CMA or TMA) and active CNA registration or ability to obtain within 120 days.
