Assembly TechnicianSupervisory Responsibility: None FLSA STATUS: NON-EXEMPTMain Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities specific to the role:Sets-up and operate all manual machines to produce tooling, gages, and production components.Machine precision components to exacting tolerances and dimensions.Interpret prints, sketches/shop drawings, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup.Uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments.Strong experience with conventional Machining: Milling, Turning, and Grinding.Select the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and utilize various measuring instruments such as micrometers, Vernier, calipers, etc.Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.General responsibilities:Comply with all company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements.Read and understand the requirements on the work instructions for the operation to be carried out.Ensure that all the documentation required to carry out the operation in accordance with the work instructions is available at the point of use and at the correct revision.Read and understand all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation, this includes Tooling Control Sheets (TCS) as required, Engineering Drawings, Data Cards, Operation Inspection Plans (OIP) etc.Use of all measuring equipment as defined within Operation Inspection Plans to check conformance to requirements.Carry out in process inspection in accordance with relevant inspection plans to ensure that components are conforming prior to passing on to subsequent operations.Ensure that components identified as non-conforming during in process inspection are identified and communicated in accordance with the Non-Conformance Procedure.Complete all work booking requirements within the ERP system to ensure accurate WIP records.Follow work handling and storage instructions to prevent damage to components.Support Root Cause Analysis activities when non-conformance occurs to prevent reoccurrence.Carry out and record all TPM activities in accordance with the specified schedule for the equipment being operated.Ensure that work areas are tidy, cleaned and maintained in accordance with 5S requirements.Engage and contribute to Continuous Improvement activities to maximize efficiency.Comply with all company procedures and policies.From time to time, you may be required to perform other duties as requested by your Line Manager, and whilst not listed above, these duties will be appropriate to the level of responsibility held and to the scope of the role as defined.Physical Demands Of The JobN (Not Applicable) Activity is not applicable to this position O (Occasionally) Position requires this activity up to 33% of the time (0 - 2.5+ hours per day) F (Frequently) Position requires this activity from 33% - 66% of the time (2.5 - 5.5+ hours per day) C (Constantly) Position requires this activity more than 66% of the time (5.5+ hours per day)Physical Demands:Lift/ Carry: Stand C Walk C Sit O Manually Manipulate F Grasp F Reach Outward F Read O Reach Above Shoulder F Climb N Crawl N Squat or Kneel O Bend O10 lbs or less F 11-20 lbs O 21-50 lbs O 51-100 lbs N Over 100 lbs N Push/ Pull 12 lbs or less O 13-25 lbs O 26-40 lbs N 41-100 lbs NOther Physical Requirements:Vision (Near)Sense of Sound – Hear and RespondAbility to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)Working ConditionsThe characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this specific job.
