This role focuses on building custom machines and equipment from start to finish in a clean, organized manufacturing environment. You will assemble complete machines and sub-components, work from detailed engineering documentation, and use a variety of tools and machine shop equipment to deliver high-quality, one-of-a-kind systems. The position requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to troubleshoot issues across multiple disciplines, and a commitment to precision and safety.

Responsibilities

• Build complete machines and sub-components from start to finish according to engineering specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to guide assembly work.
• Assemble, install, and align mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively during assembly and installation.
• Identify and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues during the build and testing process.
• Fabricate parts as needed using machine shop equipment such as mills, lathes, and saws.
• Perform welding tasks as required to support machine assembly and fabrication.
• Verify that assembled machines meet all specifications and quality standards.
• Assess and resolve assembly problems in a timely manner, communicating issues and solutions clearly.
• Follow established procedures, safety guidelines, and quality standards throughout the build process.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other assemblers to ensure successful completion of custom projects.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics (required).
• Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical environment (required).
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on assembly or repair experience.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for mechanical assembly.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems in the context of machine assembly and repair.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues.
• Attention to detail and ability to verify specifications and quality requirements.
• Capability to work independently and as part of a team in a shop environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with custom machine building (preferred).
• Experience with welding processes in a manufacturing or fabrication setting (preferred).
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and their integration into machinery (preferred).
• Experience in general mechanic work, including repair and maintenance of equipment (preferred).
• Experience operating a forklift in a shop or warehouse environment (preferred).
• Two-year technical degree in a related field such as mechanical technology, industrial technology, or similar (nice to have).
• Ability to read and follow detailed engineering documentation and specifications.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving assembly challenges.

Work Environment

You will work in a clean, well-lit, and highly organized facility with approximately 30 employees across the shop and office, fostering a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere. The role follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., providing consistent daytime hours. The environment is centered around custom machine building, with access to hand and power tools, mills, lathes, saws, and other machine shop equipment. Safety procedures and quality standards are integral to daily operations, supporting a professional and efficient workplace.

This is a Permanent position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
