The cardiologist will be stationed at our Abingdon, Virginia facility. Our team comprises over 40 cardiologists, including specialists in non-invasive and interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, electrophysiology, CT surgery, and thoracic surgery, along with more than 35 physician extenders. We are nationally acknowledged for our excellence in cardiovascular care and are committed to innovative practices, featuring a cutting-edge team of physicians and providers. Our advanced cardiovascular care system includes the only regional STEMI transfer program in the state, active research with publications in prestigious journals such as NEJM, and comprehensive vascular and structural heart programs.

This full-time role is part of a well-established and stable group. Suitable candidates will work at our clinic in Abingdon, Virginia, and will also be involved in the Johnston Memorial Hospital Cath Lab, which is equipped with the latest technology. The team will include one Invasive Cardiologist, two Interventional Cardiologists, Nurse Practitioners, and a dedicated support staff. Additional assistance will be available as needed. Johnston Memorial Hospital is a 116-bed facility known for its skilled physicians and compassionate nursing and technical staff. All the advanced technology necessary for your success will be at your disposal.

Practice Highlights:

• Johnston Memorial Hospital performs an average of 65 catheterizations monthly, including approximately 40 diagnostic and 25 interventional procedures, as well as permanent pacemaker and ICD insertions
• Equipped with a Philips Cath Lab featuring advanced cardiac support devices such as Laser, Volcano, EKOS, CardioMEMs, Penumbra, IABP, and Impella
• Offers the only 24/7 STEMI service in Southwest Virginia, handling around 80 STEMIs annually
• On-site congestive heart failure (CHF) clinic
• Three experienced advanced practitioners to support the practice

• Advanced imaging department with a Siemens 128-slice CT scanner capable of calcium scoring and coronary CTA

Johnston Memorial Hospital is a modern 116-bed medical facility located in Abingdon, Virginia. Established in 2011, it is the first 'green' hospital in Southwest Virginia, certified by LEED and Energy Star.
