Company Description Turtle Cove Swim School is a year-round swim program where children learn through encouragement, consistency, and fun. From first water experiences to advanced skill development, classes are designed to meet each child at their current level and support growth at their own pace. The school focuses on building strong, confident swimmers in a positive and safe environment. Conveniently located in Winter Haven, FL, Turtle Cove proudly serves families throughout Polk County and nearby communities. Role Description The Swim Instructor is a full-time, on-site role based in Winter Haven, FL. This role involves teaching group and private swim lessons to children of varying ages and skill levels, following established curriculum and safety standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include demonstrating proper swim techniques, monitoring and maintaining a safe aquatic environment, and providing clear, supportive feedback to swimmers and their families. The Swim Instructor will also assist with class setup, pool deck organization, and may support special programs, assessments, or events as needed. Collaboration with other team members to ensure consistent, high-quality instruction and an engaging learning atmosphere is essential. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in Swim Instruction and Swim Lessons, with the ability to tailor teaching methods to different ages and abilities. Strong Swimming and Aquatics skills, including comfort in the water and knowledge of stroke techniques and water safety. Lifeguarding experience or certification, with a solid understanding of emergency procedures and risk prevention. Current CPR, First Aid, and water safety certifications, or willingness to obtain them within a defined timeframe. Ability to communicate clearly with children and caregivers, using patient, encouraging, and inclusive language. Reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent schedule that may include evenings or weekends.
