Department : 37650 Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center - Inpatient Rehabilitation Status : Full time Benefits Eligible : Yes Hours Per Week : 40 Schedule Details/Additional Information : Monday‑Friday regular business hours with weekend and holiday requirements Pay Range : $41.10 - $61.65 Education / Experience : B.S., M.S., or D.P.T degree from accredited physical therapy school. Previous hospital experience preferred. Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration : Current licensure in the applicable state and CPR certification in Basic Life Support, Level C. Essential Functions Adheres to general hospital standards, promotes a cooperative work environment using communication skills, interpersonal relationships, and team building; follows hospital and departmental policies; contributes to overall quality of services and stays informed of policy changes. Provides patient care assessment and treatment, ensures evaluations and treatments are comprehensive, functional, and adhere to the Standard of Practice. Establishes realistic treatment plans, encourages patients and significant others in goal setting, and responds to physiologic changes. Recommends next level of care and ensures quality outcomes. Supervises support staff providing direction and feedback. Maintains accurate documentation: completes written patient evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes per policy, logs patient/family education, charges, departmental statistics, and ICD‑10 codes, and keeps records in systematic order. Ensures documentation legibility. Meets department financial and productivity standards, understands budgeted expectations, maintains productivity, and adjusts schedules to meet patient and departmental needs. Participates in process management to optimize quality and efficiency, identifies opportunities, communicates progress barriers, researches evidence‑based practices to improve patient care. Encourages professional development and education of other health‑care workers; provides representation on committees; conducts in‑service training; stays current with local, state, and national developments; shares clinical expertise with therapists, students, and other professionals. Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and external customers; promotes an open atmosphere; informs supervisor of issues and resolutions; ensures patient and family understanding. Provides appropriate patient care following age/developmental guidelines; demonstrates age‑specific knowledge and skills; maintains competence through regular knowledge updates. Skills and Qualifications Communicates professionally with physicians, nurses, and other health‑care providers to deliver quality patient care. Communicates with patients of all age groups and significant others at an appropriate comprehension level. Possesses knowledge, clinical skills, and understanding of the patient across the entire span of life. Work Environment Subject to stress conditions. Moderate noise environment. Clean, well‑lit comfortable climate; occasional high moisture conditions. Frequent exposure to bloodborne and airborne pathogens; may encounter infectious and contagious diseases. Contact with patients in a wide variety of circumstances. May make home visits. Exposure to unpleasant patient elements and body fluids. Subject to electro‑mechanical hazards. Exposure to cleaning chemicals. Occasional emergency or crisis situations. Requires personal protective equipment: eye protection, face protection, gown, mask, lab coat, sterile and non‑sterile gloves, and shoe covers.
