Security Guard Job DescriptionThe Security Guard serves as a crucial member of our safety and security team, responsible for protecting property, assets, guests, and employees through vigilant monitoring and professional response to security concerns. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who maintains a strong security presence while delivering exceptional customer service in accordance with our high hospitality standards.Full-time position working forty (40) hours per week. Various shifts available including morning (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM), afternoon (2:00 PM - 10:00 PM), and overnight (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM). Schedule may vary based on business needs, special events, and seasonal requirements.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesSecurity OperationsConduct regular patrols of the property, including buildings, parking areas, and groundsMonitor security systems and surveillance equipmentMaintain detailed logs of all security activities, incidents, and observationsControl access to the property through guest verification and visitor managementRespond promptly to security alerts and emergency situationsCoordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessaryGuest RelationsPresent a professional, approachable security presence that aligns with our hospitality standardsAssist guests with security-related concerns and inquiriesProvide directions and general property information to guestsHandle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalismMaintain positive interactions while enforcing property policiesSafety ManagementIdentify and report potential safety hazards or security vulnerabilitiesEnsure proper implementation of emergency response proceduresAssist in evacuations and other emergency situations as neededMonitor and enforce fire safety and other safety protocolsMaintain familiarity with property layout and emergency equipment locationsAdministrative DutiesComplete detailed incident reports and security logsDocument all security rounds and notable observationsMaintain security equipment and supplies inventoryParticipate in regular security training and briefingsCommunicate effectively with other departments regarding security mattersRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentValid New York State Security Guard LicenseCurrent CPR and First Aid certificationClean criminal background checkValid driver's license with clean driving recordMinimum of 1 year security or related experienceStrong verbal and written communication skillsProficiency with basic computer systems and security softwarePreferred QualificationsAssociate's degree in Criminal Justice or related fieldPrior hospitality or resort security experienceMilitary or law enforcement backgroundAdditional security certificationsExperience with modern security systems and surveillance equipmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to patrol property for extended periodsCapability to stand and walk for entire shiftMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 poundsAbility to react quickly in emergency situationsCapable of working in various weather conditionsCore CompetenciesSound judgment and decision-makingExcellent observation skillsStrong interpersonal abilitiesProfessional demeanorAbility to remain calm under pressureTeam orientationDetail-orientedCustomer service focusWorking ConditionsIndoor and outdoor environmentsVarious weather conditions24/7 operation environmentHoliday and weekend availability requiredExposure to emergency situationsThe Security Guard must maintain the highest standards of professionalism and vigilance while contributing to a welcoming resort atmosphere.
