Cardiac Monitor Technician – Telemetry Salary: $54,446 - $58,407 Per Year We can count on you when seconds matter You notice what others might overlook, and that attention to detail can make all the difference. Your focus, vigilance, and ability to stay calm under pressure make you someone the care team can rely on. When you’re monitoring patients, nothing slips by, and we don’t want you to slip by us. In this role, you will continuously observe ECG monitors, recognize arrhythmias, and promptly notify nurses and physicians of any changes in heart rate or rhythm. You will obtain and document rhythm strips, collect baseline strips each shift, and ensure monitoring equipment is functioning properly. You will also replace electrodes, wires, and batteries as necessary, maintain emergency equipment readiness, and clean machines according to hospital infection control standards. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced hospital environment, using strong communication skills and sound judgment to support safe, high-quality patient care. Qualifications High school diploma or GED Successful completion of a Rhythm Recognition course – Required Demonstrated experience as a Telemetry Technician – Required Ability to recognize myocardial infarction and arrhythmia – Required Basic computer literacy and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience Experience operating cardiac monitors and telemetry monitoring systems – Required Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Strong telemetry interpretation skills and excellent interpersonal communication If you take pride in precision, stay focused under pressure, and understand the importance of every heartbeat, this role gives you the chance to make a real impact.
