Registered Nurse Med-Surge- 36 Hours (Day/Nights, Every Third Weekend

Position: Registered Nurse Location: Boston Medical Center – Brighton CMP7 Schedule: 36hrs/wk, Day/Night rotation, every third weekend/rotating holidays Position Summary CMP7 is a 30‑bed medical‑surgical telemetry unit serving a wide range of general medical and surgical diagnoses, including orthopedics, vascular medicine, neurology, oncology and complex medical patients. Certified as a primary stroke unit, it provides care for intermediate‑level telemetry patients. Job Responsibilities Deliver nursing care in the Medical Surgical unit, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. Communicate with various health‑care team members, patients, and families. Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient‑care activities to inter‑professional colleagues. Update and manage patient records, entering and interpreting computerized data and information. Follow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organization. Assist the leadership team as needed in quality‑improvement projects. Job Requirements Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), with ability to obtain a BSN within 4years. 1+year of RN experience preferred. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS). Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90days of hire. National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate preferred or completed during orientation. Telemetry experience preferred. Experience with electronic health record preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical ability to meet job responsibilities and basic computer proficiency. Fluency in another language a plus. Job Benefits Competitive pay (range $39.02–$90.05).
