This position will have responsibility for helping Bloom Energy successfully maintain and obtain Agency certifications. This role will report to Director, Development Engineering and is based in San Jose, CA.This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.Additional Note: This position will have responsibility for helping Bloom Energy successfully maintain and obtain Agency certifications.Role and Responsibilities:Specifying certification requirements for Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) systems, both domestic and international.Specifying certification requirements of electrical and mechanical components for SOFC fuel cell systems, both domestic and international.Coordinating agency compliance projects for ANSI/CSA FC1, UL 1741, IEC 62282 series and/or other relevant requirements for the solid oxide fuel cells both domestic and international.Coordinating agency compliance projects for other Bloom Energy owned Agency projects, both domestic and international.Work with Applications Engineering on compliance issues related to installations, both domestic and international.Work with domestic and international utilities, inspection authorities, and other government agencies to negotiate market acceptance of Bloom Energy products.Prepare documentation for Agency engineering projects.Maintain a library of technical decisions between Bloom Energy and Agency.Work jointly with supply chain personnel to ensure sourced components complete agency certificationsWork jointly with engineering staff to ensure that items related to compliance are driven to closure on-timeCoordinate UL Field EvaluationsTrain regional Contract Manufacturers on UL Follow Up Services (FUS) requirements, and if necessary, conduct root cause analysis of Variation Notice, implement corrective actions and implement preventative action processes.Ability to travel domestically and internationally on a regular basisEducation, Skills and Experience: 10+ years of compliance engineering experienceTechnical Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institutionExcellent communication skills – both written and oralExcellent ability to work on many items in parallelExcellent complex project management experienceExcellent ability to track action items and drive to closureEngineering Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institutionPrior working experience with or at Underwriters Laboratories Inc.
