The individual coordinates and directs coaches, monitors recruitment, admission, and initial eligibility of prospects in all sports, and manages monitoring systems that help the university comply with all rules governing intercollegiate athletics. Level Scope Oversees a complex organization through subordinate managers with significant impact on the campus. The role formulates and administers policies, manages human, financial, and physical resources, and operates with high autonomy, influencing senior leadership decisions. Essential Functions 60% of the time: Provide vision and leadership for the University NCAA Compliance Unit, including systems for rules monitoring, staff education, enforcement actions, and violation reporting. Serve as the primary compliance administrator for football and other designated sports. Oversee roster management of the Athletics Department sports programs. Ensure timely and accurate completion of mandated forms, reports, assessments, and audits required by agencies. Lead, train, and evaluate compliance staff, delegating and assessing work/performance. Represent the department at the university, conference, and national groups, ensuring timely investigation, resolution, and self-reporting of infractions. Oversee administration of financial aid and scholarship processes with the athletics business office and the university’s financial aid office. Liaise between the NCAA, Initial Eligibility Center, Conference, and other institutions regarding compliance. Provide rules education, monitor compliance systems, and oversee current policy related to recruiting, on-campus visits, financial aid, housing/dining, and athletics‑department procedures. Maintain the allocated budget. Manage new employee compliance orientations including onboarding and offboarding processes. 35% of the time: Assist with monitoring NIL initiatives, athlete revenue share, policies, and software processes as a member of the BroncoPRO Team. Serve as a member of the athletics department’s senior staff team. Provide sport program oversight as the Sport Program Administrator or Secondary Sport Program Administrator to support and oversee teams as assigned. 5% Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong experience and knowledge of all NCAA and conference rules and regulations regarding compliance issues. Supervisory skills with the ability to administer and motivate staff. Strong computer knowledge and aptitude for learning compliance software (NCAA Compliance Assistant, Teamworks, CAPS platforms). Ability to generate, cultivate, and maintain relationships and communicate effectively with a wide audience. Ability to present information in front of large audiences and communicate effectively. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree plus 8 years relevant experience, including 5 years managerial experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or Juris Doctorate. Seven years of experience in compliance at a Division I institution, conference office, or NCAA national office. Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations in eligibility, financial aid, investigation of rule violations/enforcement, and recruiting. Experience with NCAA Compliance Assistant, Teamworks, and CAPS platforms. Salary and Benefits Salary starts at $90,000 annually and is commensurate with experience.
