Job Responsibilities

• Interprofessional Practice – Demonstrates consistent integration of the Interprofessional Practice Model (IPM) in all aspects of practice.
• Professional and Clinical Leadership – Demonstrates a commitment to the profession of nursing, accountability for self‑growth, serves as a role model, functions as a unit leader, and contributes to the delivery of quality patient care with the surgical team during pre‑operative and immediate post‑operative phases.
• Clinical Practice – Possesses expert clinical knowledge and skills, delivers nursing care for patients/families with needs ranging from uncomplicated to highly complex, maintains high standards of practice, stays current with CCHMC policies and standards, provides education, formulates and monitors assessments, and collaborates to achieve goals benefiting patient care and professional practice.
• Evidence Based Practice – Assesses the patient pre‑operatively, develops a nursing care plan, assists with positioning and draping, provides hemostasis and wound exposure, sutures tissue, applies dressing under surgeon supervision, uses instruments skillfully, maintains aseptic technique, supplies equipment, assists with postoperative transport, communicates with PACU and family, evaluates postoperative patient, participates in discharge planning, and demonstrates competency in patient/family education.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in a related field.
• ACEN/CCNE accredited BSN or MSN or Associate/Diploma RN with 2 years experience; BSN/MSN agreement may be required to obtain other state licensure.
• 2+ years of work experience in a related job discipline.
• Active Ohio RN License.
