We serve neurodiverse adolescents ages 13-22. Our multidisciplinary team works to create rich and meaningful experiences that will nurture learning and prepare our students for their transition into adulthood and independent living. While our classrooms have four walls, we consider Boston our second classroom, and our students are often making meaning and deepening learning throughout the city.The PositionIn alignment with Ivy Street’s mission of being a transition-based program the nursing department aims to prepare and properly educate students on how to navigate the healthcare system and their own wellness needs. Some of these goals each nurse would work on include medication education, medication packing, making healthcare appointments, assisting with self-advocacy at healthcare appointments, communication with outside providers.(1) Full Time Role(1) Per Diem RoleKey ResponsibilitiesOrdering, administering, and managing medications and controlled substances through off grounds partnered pharmacyMonitoring student medication changes and side effectsAssist with case management and care coordination between the members of the students outside care team via appointment planning and organizationMonitoring students’ overall wellness, and follow up on implemented care plan based on individualized needsProviding health education and acting as a liaison with community physicians and health care providersMonitoring and preparing medications needed for off grounds trips and home visitsCommunicating with Director of Nursing, clinicians, and other support staff about health concerns and medical incidentsTransportation and attendance at appointments when necessaryGeneral office inventory and upkeepSupporting students in planning and preparing for their appointmentsStudent and staff medication training when necessaryMay provide orientation and in-service training on behalf of the clinical teamHolds a late-night shift once a week (until 6:30pm)Provides case consultation and trainings to staffQualificationsMassachusetts nursing licenseDriver’s license with clean driving recordCPR and CPI certification (trainings offered at Ivy Street)Experience working in an inpatient psychiatry unit, a therapeutic school, and/or with autism/youth with disabilities strongly preferredExperience with case management and care coordinationJob Type: Full time in school setting, fully in personSchedule: Monday-Friday 40 hours with flexibility to rotate evening and weekend coverageLocation: Ivy Street SchoolBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 403(b), generous earned time package and more!Pay Range: $40-$50 hourly, commensurate with experience, qualifications and internal equityMAB Community Services offers a comprehensive and flexible benefits package for eligible employees, including but not limited to optional health, dental, and vision insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), and a Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).MAB Community Services is committed to workplace diversity and candidates of all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.*****************************MAB Community Services provides equal opportunity to all staff and administers all personnel policies and procedures without regard to race, color, religion, gender, pregnancy, pregnancy-related conditions, sexual preference, gender identity, age, national origin, status as a Vietnam veteran era or disabled veteran, disability, or other factors which cannot legitimately be the basis for an employment decision.
