ICU Registered Nurse (RN)We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves primarily working in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with occasional floating to the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to critically ill patients and will be part of a dynamic healthcare environment.Shift DetailsShift: Days, Every Other Weekend (EOW)Shift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekUnit InformationUnit Type: ICUNumber of Beds: 82 (48 in ICU, 34 in PCU)Patient Ratios: ICU: 1:1 or 1:2PCU: 1:3Common Diagnoses: All critical care diagnosesKey ResponsibilitiesProvide care to critically ill patients in the ICU.Administer medications and manage IV therapies, including ICU-level infusions.Collaborate with healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes.Participate in patient assessments, monitoring, and documentation.Float to PCU as needed; manage patients requiring less intensive care.Coordinate care during your shift, including supervising nurse aides.Engage in floor-specific orientation and training as required.QualificationsMinimum of 2 years of nursing experience in an ICU or similar critical care environment.Current certifications: BLS and ACLS (AHA).Ability to float between all ICU and PCU units as required.Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.Experience with IV teams, respiratory therapy, and continuous patient monitoring systems (EPIC).Additional InformationWeekend Requirements: Every other weekend for days or nights.Holiday rotation in accordance with permanent staff.Orientation: Planning for a maximum of 1 week with an educator, minimum of 2 shifts.Support services including 24/7 pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and an in-house IV team available.Patients in PCU may require care for drips such as cardizem, nitro, and insulin.Floating may occur to various units within the region based on patient care needs.Client Details City Tacoma State WA
