Clinical Transplant Coordinator II

The Clinical Transplant Coordinator II reports to the Transplant Programs Manager of the Transplant Center. Under general supervision, the Clinical Transplant Coordinator II develops and uses advanced clinical management, consultation, education and research to promote quality care for the specific transplant patient populations. Provides growth in a clinical knowledge through research-based practice with peers. This position is responsible for the ongoing training of new staff and keeping up to date with the regulatory changes in UNOS and CMS.

Minimum Education and Requirements: Bachelor's degree in nursing required and three years related nursing experience. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Some positions require certification as a generalist in a related specialty area by the American Nurses Association (ANA). Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Physical Requirements: Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, and walking. Ability to climb stairs, work indoors and outside in temperature extremes, and work from elevated areas. Ability to work in confined spaces, perform kneeling positions, and twist at the waist. Ability to squat, perform pinching operations, and use both legs for balance and coordination. Ability to reach overhead and perform repetitive motions with hands/wrists/elbows and shoulders. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance, match or discriminate between colors, determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception, and maintain good peripheral vision capabilities. Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction. Ability to perform gross motor functions with frequent fine motor movements. Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations, work rotating shifts, and work overtime as required. Ability to work in a latex safe environment. Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions. Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function. Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use.
