Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Infusion

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse for a 14-week travel assignment in an outpatient Oncology Infusion setting in Atlanta, Georgia. This role is crucial in providing high-quality care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and other oncology treatments.

The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, focusing on patient assessment, safe administration of chemotherapy and other medications, and comprehensive patient education within a suburban hematology-oncology associates clinic. This position is ideal for a travel nurse looking to contribute their expertise in a specialized environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, and other infusion treatments safely and accurately according to established protocols.
• Assess patient condition, monitor for adverse reactions, and manage symptoms during and after infusions.
• Provide comprehensive patient and family education regarding treatment plans, potential side effects, and self-care strategies.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatments, and responses.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Ensure adherence to all safety and infection control standards.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of recent, direct experience in an Oncology or Hematology Infusion setting.
• Demonstrated competency in chemotherapy administration.
• Current Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider certification.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Trauma Level 1 facility.
• Additional experience in Oncology or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings.

• Expertise in IV insertion and venipuncture.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8-hour shifts).
• Days per week: 5.
• Call Requirements: Not specified.
• Weekend Rotation: Not specified (regular schedule is M-F).
• Holiday Requirements: Must work two (2) major holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) and one (1) minor holiday (The Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve) if they fall within the contract period.
• Contract Length: 14 weeks.
• Start Date: September 28, 2026.
• End Date: January 2, 2027.
• Travel Requirement: Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility.

Licensing Requirements

• Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification.
