Key Account Manager

The Role: We're seeking a Key Account Manager (KAM) in the mid-Atlantic area to own and grow relationships with our most strategic retail and distributor partners. You'll be the connective tissue between BERO's commercial strategy and the accounts that drive our volume — managing everything from joint business planning and promotional execution to distributor sell-through and shelf performance. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and knows how to build trust with buyers and distributor reps alike. What You'll Do: Retail Account Management Own relationships with assigned retail key accounts (e.g., grocery chains, specialty retailers, mass/club) Lead buyer meetings, line reviews, and promotional planning conversations Develop and execute account-specific business plans to drive distribution, velocity, and shelf presence Negotiate promotional programs, TPRs, and display opportunities Monitor in-store execution, planogram compliance, and void closure Add value to the retailer NA Beer category through Premium offering Serve as the BERO contact for assigned distributor partners’ Key Account Team business Conduct regular business reviews with the Regional Sales Managers and Directors to inform goals, and track performance against targets Collaborate with distributor KAM/sales teams to drive sell-through at the chain-account level Manage Pricing inputs for post-offs to ensure Distributor compliance and shelf-pricing output Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with the field sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to align on priorities Provide market feedback and competitive intelligence to inform brand and commercial strategy Represent BERO at trade events, retailer summits and occasional Distributor Meetings What We're Looking For: Required 3+ years of experience in a key account management, sales, or trade marketing role within CPG, beverage, or food & beverage (Must have strong background in the beer category) Demonstrated experience managing both retail buyers and distributor relationships Strong understanding of the three-tier beer distribution system and retail sell-through dynamics Proven ability to build and present data-driven business cases (Nielsen, SPINS, or similar syndicated data a plus) Excellent communication (written and verbal), negotiation, and relationship-building skills Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of tools (Excel, PPT, Word), Google Sheets/SharePoint Willingness to travel 50%+ of the time in key selling season windows as needed Budget Management - P&L understanding and can demonstrate an ability to manage all budget line items Preferred Experience in the beer category Familiarity with DSD (Direct Store Delivery) distribution models and DSD accounts teams Experience working with national or regional chains (e.g., Target, Kroger, Whole Foods, Total Wine) Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience) What We Offer Competitive base salary + performance-based bonus Equity participation Car & Phone Monthly allowance & one-time ‘office setup’ allowance Monthly BERO product allowance Flexible, remote-friendly work environment The chance to build something iconic from the ground up #J-18808-Ljbffr BERO
