You're the hub. The connective tissue. The person who sees the whole board. Brave Books is executing 30+ book launches in 2026 across two imprints. That's a lot of moving parts — publisher ops, YouTuber relationships, market research, fulfillment logistics, paid ads, PR, Amazon optimization, subscription infrastructure. The leadership team is distributed. Decisions move fast. Execution moves faster. We need someone who can see across all of it, catch problems before they're problems, and make sure the smart decisions we make at 9 AM don't conflict with the smart decisions we made yesterday at 3 PM. What you'll actually do: Strategic note-taking that goes beyond note-taking. You'll sit in leadership meetings, identify strategic threads, synthesize patterns, and flag misalignments before we hit them. You'll create frameworks that help decision‑making faster, not slower. Project management without the red tape. There will be 30+ book launches running in parallel. You'll know where the real bottlenecks are (not the perceived ones), identify which projects are off track before they blow up, and elevate smartly. Organizational memory. Which creator partnerships are in flight? What's the status of the ESA expansion? What decisions have we made about market categories we're entering? You'll own that clarity. The owner of operational continuity. When information lives in emails, Slack, and people's heads, things get lost. You'll build the documentation and systems that keep critical knowledge accessible and aligned across departments. Board prep and founder support. We have a board. We have investors. You'll help our founder/CEO build clear narratives about business performance, flag risks early, and make board meetings efficient. Talent development and process improvement. As we scale, our systems break. You'll identify where processes are bottlenecking people, propose solutions, and help us hire to fill gaps. What we're looking for: Someone who thrives on complexity and doesn't need everything spelled out. You see a chaotic system and your instinct is to understand it, not simplify it (yet). Operational excellence but not obsessive process‑building. You believe in systems, but you know that the goal is speed and clarity, not perfection. You'll push back on bureaucracy. Intellectual honesty. If something isn't working, you say so — clearly, directly, without politics. Low ego on method. You don't care if the great insight came from you or someone else. You care that the right decision gets made. Communication across contexts. You can translate between technical product teams, creative teams, leadership, and business operations. No jargon walls. Bonus: Publishing or media industry experience (not required, but it helps). Alternatively, scaling experience in any complex operation.
