Founded on the belief that lasting recovery is possible, HIA operates across six states — Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, Texas, and North Carolina — serving individuals and families affected by addiction through residential recovery programs, community outreach, and discipleship.Every member of the HIA team is called to embody the organization's mission and values as both a professional and a servant leader.Position SummaryThe Grant Coordinator researches and identifies grant sources, develops and maintains funding relationships, writes and submits grant proposals, and monitors the implementation of a variety of grant opportunities to support Hope Is Alive's mission.Ministry AlignmentThis position requires active support of HIA's Statement of Faith and Code of Conduct. This list is not exhaustive and may be adjusted to support organizational needs.Primary DutiesResearch and identify grant sources, evaluating degree of match to ensure alignment with HIA's funding needs and missionDevelop and manage relationships with funders to ensure satisfaction with HIA's expectations and performanceDraft and submit grant proposals with supporting documents based on the funding requirements of the organizationWork closely with Finance to prepare budgets and financial reports for projectsAdditional ResponsibilitiesMonitor proposal and funding application requirements, including number of copies, content, delivery method and labeling, deadlines, and eligibility, to maximize successful awarding of grant fundsWork with other departments to uncover specific project needs eligible for grant fundingPrepare reports summarizing grant activities, including expenditures and outcomesDevelop processes and procedures for a consistent grant application methodologyResearch statistics within the program and nationwide to ensure the most recent data is reported in proposals and funder updatesQualificationsRequiredEasily develops relationships and is personal and relational with funders and colleaguesReliable, responsible, available, and presentExcellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf motivated, always looking for ways to do something better, with a forward thinking planning styleOrganized, with strong prioritization skills and the ability to plan and meet deadlinesDetail oriented, ensuring grant application guidelines are followedCreative, always finding innovative approaches to winning grantsStays up to date on the latest education and information relevant to grant fundingProficient in Microsoft Office and Google WorkspacePreferredPrior work experience in grants managementAbility to work independentlyA positive and professional attitudeAble to work some nights, weekends, and overnights based on the event scheduleAbility to travel in and out of state throughout event seasonsPrior experience in a small, fast scaling organizationBachelor's degree in a related fieldA passion for HIA and its missionCore CompetenciesSuccessful candidates will demonstrate strength in the following areas:Mission Alignment — Understands that every grant secured directly expands HIA's ability to serve residents and familiesRelationship Building — Develops and maintains strong, trust based relationships with fundersDetail Orientation — Ensures grant guidelines, deadlines, and reporting requirements are consistently metCreativity — Finds innovative approaches to identifying and winning grant fundingOrganization — Manages multiple proposals, budgets, and reporting deadlines simultaneouslyWorking Conditions & Physical RequirementsThe following conditions are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this role.
