ER RN Job Breakdown (Short)

Shift: 3x12 Nights (19:00–07:30)
Weekly Hours: 36 hrs
Unit: Emergency Room (ED)
License: KY or Compact required
Travel Rule: No local travelers (within 100 miles not accepted)

Core Responsibilities

• Direct Emergency Care: ~18–20 hrs/week
  Rapid assessment, triage, stabilization of acute ER patients
• Critical Interventions: ~8–10 hrs/week
  Trauma/medical emergencies, cardiac/respiratory distress management
• Medications & Protocols: ~5–6 hrs/week
  Emergency drips, ACLS/PALS algorithms, rapid medication administration
• Procedures & Skills: ~4–5 hrs/week
  IV starts, airway support, wound care, emergency procedures
• Documentation & Flow Management: ~3–4 hrs/week
  ER charting, patient tracking, handoffs, disposition coordination

Key Requirements

• 2+ years ER experience required
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS required
• KY or Compact RN license required
• First-time travelers accepted only with Level 1 ER experience

• Travel experience preferred but not mandatory
