Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $2290 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Required Skills/Experience: EKG interpretation and medication titration required.

Unit Details: Cardiothoracic/telemetry population includes MI, CHF, A fib, COPD, pacemaker/AICD placement, lung surgery, chest tubes, esophagectomy patients (not fresh from PACU), and general med overflow. Nurse-patient ratios: Days 1:4-5, nights 1:5-6; surg staffing increases ratios to days 1:6 and nights 1:7. Titrates drips, mainly Cardizem and heparin. Respiratory support includes CPAP and BiPAP for home-regimen patients; heated high flow is used only in special circumstances with COVID patients. Uses Phillips telemetry monitors; monitor techs are available. 24/7 charge nurse rarely takes patients; house supervisor is available 24/7. PCT support ratios: days 1:8-9, evenings 1:9-10, nights 1:10-12.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; nights work Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday. Holiday rotation required; nights cover Memorial Day Eve, July 3rd, Labor Day Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Eve. No call or standby requirement at this time.

Floating Requirements: Float to other general medical units.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
