Job Title: Contract Administrator (Federal Government Contracts)

Job Description

This role oversees the full lifecycle of complex client and partner agreements within a federal government contracting environment. The Contract Administrator drafts, reviews, and negotiates contracts, ensures compliance with federal regulations and internal policies, manages contract-related financial activities, and serves as a key liaison between internal teams and external partners. The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional efforts to meet contractual obligations and business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete lifecycle of complex client and partner agreements, including drafting, reviewing, and coordinating contract documentation from initiation through closeout.

• Monitor key contractual obligations, milestones, timelines, and reporting requirements to ensure all commitments are met on schedule.

• Support the development of new business opportunities by contributing to agreement extensions, modifications, and renewals while maintaining alignment with organizational policies and procedures.

• Maintain and organize comprehensive contract records, performance metrics, financial data, and critical terms throughout the engagement lifecycle.

• Review and negotiate agreement language to ensure expectations, deliverables, and success measures are clearly defined and understood by all parties.

• Ensure adherence to applicable industry standards, federal contractual requirements, and internal governance policies related to contract management.

• Collaborate closely with finance and operational teams to support billing accuracy, revenue recognition, budget monitoring, and other contract-related financial activities.

• Coordinate the maintenance of documentation required for audits, certifications, quality reviews, and organizational compliance initiatives.

• Identify potential contractual risks and work with internal stakeholders to develop and implement effective mitigation strategies and resolutions.

• Act as a primary liaison for agreement-related matters with clients, partners, and internal business teams, ensuring clear and timely communication.

• Facilitate collaboration across departments to support successful execution of contractual commitments and service-level expectations.

• Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on contract requirements, performance expectations, and issue resolution processes.

• Foster positive and professional business relationships while ensuring contractual objectives and organizational goals are consistently achieved.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in federal government contracting, with a focus on contract management and administration.

• Strong understanding of federal contracting processes, including FAR and GSA compliance requirements.

• Demonstrated experience in drafting contracts, subcontract agreements, and team agreements.

• Familiarity with federal government compliance requirements and processes for tracking contractual data.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience using contract management software to track, manage, and report on contract activities.

• Ability to identify contractual risks and support the development of practical resolutions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with federal contracting systems.

• Knowledge of small business certifications and set-aside programs.

• Experience supporting audits, certifications, and quality reviews related to contract compliance.

• Background in coordinating cross-functional teams in a federal contracting environment.

• Ability to build and maintain positive business relationships while upholding contractual obligations.

Work Environment

The role begins as a 100% remote position, offering flexibility to work from home for the first few months. The position involves regular collaboration with finance, operations, and other business teams, primarily through digital communication tools and contract management software. The environment is professional, detail-oriented, and compliance-focused, with an emphasis on accuracy in documentation, financial tracking, and adherence to federal contracting standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, MD.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $57.69/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
