Position: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Location: California Duration: Long Term Job Overview We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with 6+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development. The candidate must have strong SolidWorks skills, including 3D modeling, assembly design, and 2D drafting. Experience with manufacturing drawings, GD&T, design validation, and engineering documentation is required. Medical device or biopharmaceutical industry experience is preferred but not mandatory. Key Responsibilities Create 3D models and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks. Prepare and update 2D manufacturing and production drawings. Apply mechanical design principles, dimensional tolerances, and GD&T. Support product development, design reviews, and design validation activities. Update drawings and maintain engineering changes, revisions, and documentation. Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams. Support production and manufacturing teams in resolving design-related issues. Ensure designs meet manufacturing requirements and applicable design standards. Coordinate multiple projects and deliver engineering tasks on schedule. Identify opportunities to improve design quality, manufacturability, and engineering processes. Required Qualifications Minimum 6+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering. Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, including 3D modeling, assemblies, and 2D drafting. Good understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering drawings. Experience creating accurate, production-ready manufacturing drawings. Knowledge of GD&T, dimensional tolerances, and manufacturing processes. Experience with product development, design validation, and engineering change management. Ability to maintain design documentation and drawing revisions. Medical device, pharmaceutical, or biopharmaceutical industry experience is preferred but not mandatory. Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
