Pay Rate
Local: $55.00 - $58.00/hour
Traveler: $60.00 - $62.00/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking an Echocardiographer to perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound examinations, assist with stress echocardiography and TEE procedures, and provide accurate diagnostic imaging for physician interpretation.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of a certified Cardiovascular Technology or accredited Ultrasonography program with cardiac specialization
• High school diploma or equivalent
• RDCS or RDMS certification
• AHA BLS certification
• Vascular testing experience
• Proficiency in 2-D and M-Mode echocardiography
• Color Flow Imaging and Doppler experience
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
• Ability to recognize and communicate abnormal or potentially life-threatening findings
• Ability to obtain and document accurate patient history
• English proficiency
• Minimum 15 hours of echocardiography-related continuing education over 3 years

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of clinical echocardiography experience
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac catheterization/invasive procedure experience
• Stress echocardiography and TEE experience
• Strain and 3D echocardiography experience
• RVT or RVS certification

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cardiac ultrasound examinations
• Perform 2-D, M-Mode, Color Flow, and Doppler studies
• Perform or assist with stress echocardiography
• Assist cardiologists with TEE procedures
• Utilize Strain and 3D echocardiography techniques
• Obtain accurate patient histories
• Position and safely assist patients
• Obtain and store high-quality digital images
• Recognize abnormal findings and immediately notify appropriate personnel
• Perform bedside echocardiography
• Operate, calibrate, clean, and maintain equipment
• Prepare examination rooms
• Follow sterile and infection-control procedures
• Maintain accurate reports and documentation
• Participate in quality-improvement initiatives
• Assist with training and orientation
• Maintain continuing education and professional competencies
