SHIFT LEAD

Shift Leader Position at Hardee's

As a shift leader for Hardee's, you will be in charge of running the entire store operation while on the shift. Shift leaders need to have excellent organizational and managerial skills because they will be responsible for managing ten to fifteen employees all at the same time, depending on how large the store is. The need to make sure that all employees are following the food safety procedures implemented by the company, not to mention doing some minor tasks like completing paperwork before the shift ends, doing inventory of all the supplies, evaluating cash drawers, and also making bank deposits.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership by engendering excitement, enthusiasm, a positive mental attitude and commitment to company objectives.
• Insure that correct inventory levels are kept and all equipment is maintained in excellent condition through the use of approved vendors.
• Set an example by maintaining an excellent working knowledge and a high level of proficiency in the performance of all phases of restaurant operations and technology.
• Work with and motivate crew to perform up to their highest possible level of ability.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Customer service experience preferably in a restaurant setting.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to lead meetings as needed.
• 100% effort to doing quality work and providing great service.
• Ability to multi task and work under pressure.
• Ability and willingness to greet customers as they enter the restaurant and ensure they are enjoying their meal while dining in the restaurant.
• Be willing to be coached by management staff in order to develop leadership skills.

Prerequisites:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.

Experience and Skills: Experience in restaurant operations, but not required. Requires excellent communication skills, ability to deal with all levels of employees. Computer knowledge is desirable.

Physical: Must be able to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
