Respiratory TherapistARMStaffing is looking for a Respiratory Therapist in Knoxville, Tennessee.LocationKnoxville, TNAssignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.Schedule/ShiftThis position requires a 36-hour work week with day shifts, including mandatory every other weekend.Job DescriptionThe Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, administering intensive respiratory care and conducting patient transport as medically prescribed. The role includes evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients about procedures, tests, and equipment. Responsibilities also involve performing physician-prescribed treatments and operating a variety of ventilatory equipment.ResponsibilitiesEvaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans.Explain the purpose and procedure of treatments and provide discharge education.Administer various treatments, including operating ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol devices, and nebulizers.Conduct chest physiotherapy and perform suctioning by various methods.Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.Review chest x-rays and recognize basic arrhythmias through EKG.Assist in respiratory care procedures, such as bronchoscopy and tracheostomy care.Perform arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency.Maintain thorough documentation of treatments and patient responses.Communicate effectively with the medical team regarding patient therapy efficiency.Required ExperienceCandidates must hold a valid Respiratory Therapist license and have experience in performing respiratory care duties.Certifications/LicensureCurrent state licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is required.
