Medical Physicist (per diem) Position Summary At Stony Brook Medicine a Medical Physicist is a valuable member of our team who provides clinical services to our patient population. Qualified candidates will demonstrate superior patient care and possess outstanding communication skills, while adhering to our high standards of excellence. Duties of a Medical Physicist may include the following but are not limited to: Calibration and maintenance of Radiation Oncology equipment. Perform machine acceptance test and commissioning. Patient treatment planning. Brachytherapy procedures. Development and implementation of new Radiation Therapy procedures, techniques and instrumentation. Education activities. Qualifications Required Qualifications: CAMPEP Approved MS or PhD degree in Medical Physics. Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Clinical Medical Physicist in Radiation Oncology. Excellent oral and communication skills. Must have passed Part One of the American Board of Radiology (ABR) . Preferred Qualifications: Passed Part Two of the ABR with NYS License. Experience with Varian technology. SBRT/SRS planning and IGRT background. Special Notes : Resume/CV should be included with the online application. Anticipated Pay Range: The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $115.00 - 122.00 / hour. The above salary range represents SBUH’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The specific salary offer will be based on the candidate’s validated years of comparable experience.
