Job Summary:
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Specialty Nurse position located in Seattle, Washington. This role involves providing specialized care to neonates and infants in a Level III or Level IV NICU setting, with experience managing high-risk deliveries and ventilator management. The position requires the ability to float between campuses and potentially to pediatric units, with a focus on delivering quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details:

• Shift Schedule: Days, 12 hours shift, minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Minimum of three years of experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Level III or Level IV with 23-24 weeks gestation neonates. Certifications required include BLS (Basic Life Support) and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with administration of blood and blood products, care of central lines and implanted lines, neonatal dosage calculations, ventilator management (e.g., CPAP/BiPAP, high-frequency vents, oscillators, vents), and attending high-risk deliveries.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, with assignments to First Hill, Issaquah, or Edmonds for NICU, pediatrics, and pediatric neonatal units. May be assigned as a "sitter" without patient care responsibilities during some shifts.
• Orientation: 24 hours of orientation pre-start.
• Patient Age Groups: Neonates and Infants, with an average daily census of 50.
• Additional Unit Information: No ECMO is required; high-level neonatal procedures and equipment are used, including cooling/warming blankets, feeding tubes, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps.
• Special Procedures: No ECMO, but all other listed procedures such as cardioversion/defibrillation, blood administration, and neonatal surgeries are performed.
• Travel and References: Must provide two references covering the last year (or six months for CNAs), with compliance verified prior to start.
