The Assembly Technician accurately measures, inspects, and assembles precision components for roller ball bearings in a manufacturing environment. This role uses hand tools and measuring instruments to verify internal clearances, performs part marking, and prepares finished products for quality verification or shipment while maintaining high standards of safety, documentation, and product quality.

Responsibilities

• Measure product components pulled for assembly to ensure they meet required specifications.

• Perform visual inspections of components and assembled products to identify defects or irregularities.

• Clean bearing balls and related components prior to assembly to maintain product quality.

• Take internal clearance measurements using appropriate measuring tools to confirm compliance with specifications.

• Perform part marking as required using chemical etching or laser etching equipment.

• Deliver finished product to the appropriate area for quality verification or shipment as required.

• Complete inspection reports and shop travelers accurately and in a timely manner.

• Use basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals to verify product specifications.

• Read and interpret drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals to perform assembly and inspection tasks correctly.

• Use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.

• Handle and operate hand tools and assembly equipment safely and effectively.

• Lift, move, and position materials and products in accordance with job requirements.

• Follow established manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety procedures throughout all tasks.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient and safe operations.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in a manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or similar environment.

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical components.

• Proficiency using hand tools in an assembly or manufacturing setting.

• Ability to read and interpret drawings, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.

• Ability to perform basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

• Proficiency using calipers and micrometers for precision measurement.

• Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 70 lbs as part of daily duties.

• Good finger dexterity to handle small parts and perform detailed assembly work.

• Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment and follow established processes.

• Capability to complete inspection reports and documentation accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing industry or operations setting.

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and production workflows.

• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints or technical drawings.

• Previous exposure to assembly work involving bearings is preferred.

• Comfort using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers in a production environment.

• Ability to follow detailed safety rules and operating procedures consistently.

• Experience working with chemical or laser etching equipment for part marking is a plus.

Work Environment

This role is based in a roller ball bearing manufacturing environment, working directly with precision mechanical components and assemblies. You will use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices, as well as chemical or laser etching equipment for part marking. The position involves standing, handling small parts, and lifting materials up to 70 lbs on occasion. Work is performed on the production floor in a setting that emphasizes safety, adherence to procedures, and consistent product quality.

This is a Contract position based out of Issaquah, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
