Associate Director, Quantitative Pharmacology & Pharmacometrics - Mechanistic Modeling, Immunology

Merck seeks an Associate Director in Quantitative Pharmacology and Pharmacometrics with expertise in mechanistic modeling for immunology drug development. The role involves independently designing and executing model-based analyses to inform translational research and clinical development decisions across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute mechanistic modeling analyses to address translational and drug development questions in immunology
• Develop and apply PK/PD, PBPK, QSP, and other mechanistic models integrating preclinical and clinical data to inform dose selection and trial design
• Conduct clinical trial simulations, comparator modeling, and model-based analyses supporting go/no-go decisions
• Partner with cross-functional teams and external vendors to develop aligned drug development strategies
• Present scientific findings and communicate quantitative results to diverse scientific audiences

Requirements

• Ph.D. with 4+ years or PharmD with 6+ years or MS with 8+ years in pharmaceutical drug development, regulatory agencies, or academia
• Educational background in biopharmaceutics, pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacometrics, mathematics, statistics, biostatistics, computational biology, or biomedical engineering
• Hands-on experience performing population PK/PKPD/QSP modeling using Phoenix, R, Matlab, NONMEM, or Monolix
• Advanced skills in experimental design, mathematical problem-solving, and data analysis interpretation
• Proficiency in written and verbal communication and interdisciplinary collaboration

Compensation: $156,900-$247,000 base
