Our client, a growing aftermarket parts provider, is hiring a hands-on Electronics Engineer with about 2 years of experience. You will analyze, troubleshoot, repair, reverse engineer, and improve electronic assemblies and circuit boards.

This role suits an early-career engineer with solid electronics fundamentals who enjoys solving problems at the bench. You will work alongside senior engineers, technicians, and production teams to diagnose failures, understand existing designs, build test methods, and help modernize legacy products. You will build skills in PCB reverse engineering, embedded systems and firmware, display and touchscreen technologies, component-level troubleshooting, and electronic test systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Help reverse engineer electronic assemblies and PCBs, including signal tracing, component identification, schematic reconstruction, testing, and documentation.
• Troubleshoot and analyze failures on circuit boards at the component level using established diagnostic methods.
• Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, bench power supplies, and other lab equipment to find electrical and electronic faults.
• Support troubleshooting and integration of LCD/LED displays, touchscreens, digitizers, and their electronic interfaces.
• Assist senior engineers in reverse engineering OEM products and assemblies.
• Support root-cause analysis of failed or intermittent boards, and document findings and corrective actions.
• Help develop test fixtures, procedures, and automated or semi-automated solutions for board-level diagnostics and validation.
• Support the redesign of legacy boards, including finding and evaluating replacements for obsolete or discontinued components.
• Assist with prototype assembly, debugging, testing, and validation of new or redesigned products.
• Write and modify basic embedded firmware and test software in C and Python.
• Support microcontroller-based products and help debug hardware/firmware interfaces.
• Work with common interfaces and protocols: UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, and Ethernet.
• Solder, desolder, replace components, and rework PCBs during development and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Repair teams to resolve product and component issues.
• Evaluate alternate or replacement components and give technical input to suppliers and sourcing teams.
• Create and maintain schematics, BOMs, test procedures, troubleshooting guides, engineering notes, and repair documentation.
• Support continuous improvement efforts to raise repair yield, improve reliability, cut troubleshooting time, and lower repair costs.
• Follow engineering standards, documentation practices, safety requirements, and established development processes.
• Take part in design reviews, troubleshooting discussions, and technical training.
• Take on other engineering projects and duties as assigned.
• Occasional travel for product evaluation, supplier visits, field testing, or technical support.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field.
• About 2 years of professional experience in electronics engineering, board-level troubleshooting, product development, electronics repair, embedded systems, or a related area.
• Solid grasp of analog and digital electronics fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting circuit boards and assemblies.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, power supplies, and similar equipment.
• Basic to intermediate programming in C and/or Python.
• Familiarity with microcontroller platforms such as ARM Cortex-M, STM32, ESP32, RP2040, or Microchip PIC.
• Working knowledge of UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, USB, or Ethernet.
• Ability to read schematics, datasheets, PCB layouts, and technical documentation.
• Hands-on soldering and desoldering skills, including basic PCB rework.
• Clear, organized technical documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional engineering and production teams.
• Eagerness to learn and deepen expertise in troubleshooting and reverse engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in a repair, remanufacturing, electronics manufacturing, product development, or engineering lab setting.
• Exposure to PCB reverse engineering or schematic reconstruction.
• Component-level troubleshooting of embedded products.
• Familiarity with LCD, LED, touchscreen, or other display technologies.
• Experience developing or debugging embedded firmware.
• Familiarity with PCB design or schematic-capture tools such as Altium.
• Exposure to automated test equipment or building test fixtures.
• Experience finding substitutes for obsolete or discontinued parts.
• Familiarity with Git, GitLab, Wrike, or similar version-control and project-management tools.
• Strong interest in diagnosing, repairing, and improving legacy electronics.
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment where quality, turnaround, reliability, and customer service matter.
