We are seeking a Research & Development Engineer to support process improvement, process development, product testing, and prototype builds for our client in Minneapolis.

This is a hands-on engineering role working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and factory teams to improve processes, evaluate product manufacturability, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and support the transition of new products and processes into production.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate product designs and identify opportunities to improve manufacturability.
• Develop robust manufacturing processes that support product and business goals.
• Support prototype and product builds.
• Test products and analyze test results.
• Collect, analyze, and present data and results.
• Perform failure analysis and communicate findings and recommendations.
• Develop technical documentation, reports, and process documentation.
• Track project actions, milestones, and deliverables.
• Communicate project status and technical findings to leadership and stakeholders.
• Work with manufacturing teams during process and product transition activities.
• Train factory personnel on new processes as needed.
• Travel within the US and/or internationally may be required, approximately 10%.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, including:
• • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Materials Science
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Chemical Engineering
• At least 1.5 years of professional engineering experience .

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing or process development.
• Experience evaluating product capability and manufacturability.
• Experience supporting prototype or new product builds.
• Experience with testing, data analysis, and failure analysis.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies.
• Six Sigma certification and practical experience using Six Sigma tools.
• Experience with Minitab, Microsoft Office, Access , or similar analytical tools.
• Experience with inertial instruments, sensors, or precision products is a plus.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical or complex information clearly.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently while taking initiative to solve problems and move projects forward.
