Emergency Veterinarian – Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program Northeast Indiana Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital (NIVES) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Emergency Veterinarian Mentee to join our collaborative, team‑focused hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Program Overview The Ethos ER Immerse Program prepares veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. It is a 6‑month training and mentorship program designed around core competencies essential for an emergency clinician. The curriculum blends simulation‑based didactic components with authentic training experiences and focuses on clinical knowledge, client and team member communication, professional skills, and life‑work integration. Program Highlights 6‑month training program beginning June 2026 1‑year commitment as an ER clinician following training 5‑day work week: 4 clinical days, 1 didactic day, and 2 days off each week Mentor pairing with a schedule that mirrors the first 3 months; optional swing shifts thereafter under mentor and leadership approval Surgical training with board‑certified surgeons Competency‑based curriculum with asynchronous learning and weekly live virtual didactic rounds Regular live continuing education events led by specialists and experienced emergency doctors Responsibilities Provide emergency clinical care to a variety of patients in a high‑volume, 24‑hour environment. Perform emergency procedures and support surgical teams. Participate in daily case rounds and multidisciplinary team discussions. Reflect on clinical practice and seek continual improvement. Communicate with clients and support staff professionally and compassionately. Qualifications Veterinary Doctor (DVM, VMD, or equivalent) with a strong interest in emergency medicine. Team‑oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable attitude. Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
