Our staff and products serve the power generation and distribution market, switchgear OEMs, power substations, the oil and gas industry, and various transportation maintenance facilities. We are the leaders in our industry and have customers in all 50 states plus additional countries worldwide.What you'll do...We are looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our Mechanical Engineering team and support the design, release, and sustainment of industrial battery chargers and dc power systems.This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You will work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers, manufacturing, supply chain, and production to develop designs that move efficiently from concept through production and long term support. You will support both new product development and existing product platforms, and because we manufacture everything here, including our own sheet metal, you will see what you design get built.Design and releaseDesign and release mechanical components and assemblies for industrial battery chargers and dc power systemsDevelop sheet metal enclosures, internal brackets, frames, and panels for power electronics productsDesign machined components for products and for internal manufacturing equipmentDesign fixtures and tooling to support manufacturing and automationApply design for manufacturability principles throughout the design processOwnership through the lifecycleOwn your designs through concept, release, production support, and sustaining engineeringProduce and maintain accurate manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and documentationSupport production with issue resolution, drawing clarifications, and corrective actionsContribute to documentation and support activities related to product certificationsWorking across the companyCollaborate with suppliers to optimize cost, manufacturability, quality, and lead timeTake part in cross functional design reviews and production meetingsContribute to continuous improvement work within the Mechanical teamWhat you bring...Experience and qualificationsAssociate 's or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechanical design, or a related fieldFive or more years of mechanical design experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentTwo to three or more years of SolidWorks experienceExperience supporting products through the full lifecycle: concept, release, production, sustainmentWorking knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturabilityAbility to work from engineering specifications and functional requirementsSheet metal design is preferredExperience with products requiring electrical, environmental, or seismic certification is a plusFamiliarity with electrical switchgear or power electronics enclosures is a plusTools and systemsSolidWorks, PDM, and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform2D CAD tools such as DraftSightERP systems.
