This role is ideal for professionals with significant recent experience in step-down units and involves care delivery in an intensive and dynamic environment. Responsibilities include post-heart catheterization and vascular procedure care, among other critical patient management tasks.

Key Responsibilities of the Step-Down RN

• Administer medications using Pyxis system
• Monitor and manage patients with CHF, cardiac dysrhythmias, and respiratory complications
• Provide post-heart catheterization and post-vascular procedure care
• Perform frequent vital signs and neurovascular checks
• Manage cardiac drips and interpret dysrhythmias
• Assist with chest tube insertion and removal

Requirements of the Step-Down RN

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience
• Skills in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and IV management
• Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, and emergency medication administration
