Open Rank Associate Professor/Professor in Fluid Biomarkers

Position Overview Open Rank Associate Professor/Professor in Fluid Biomarkers, tenure‑track, within the Brain Health Institute at Rutgers University and Rutgers Wood Johnson Medical School. The position is part of the Herbert and Jacqueline Krieger Klein Alzheimer’s Research Center and focuses on fluid biomarker research for Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Responsibilities Lead and conduct cutting‑edge research in fluid biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Plan, design, and manage large‑scale, longitudinal fluid biomarker studies and data analyses. Develop and validate novel assays and demonstrate the clinical utility of biomarkers. Maintain and expand a well‑phenotyped dementia risk cohort of high‑risk individuals. Write and contribute to manuscripts and grant proposals, competing for extramural funding. Provide mentorship to students, post‑docs, junior investigators, and faculty. Engage and communicate with study participants, community, and public policy leaders. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams of neurologists, neuropsychologists, neuroimaging experts, and neuropathologists. Serve as a key leader in protocol development and harmonization of fluid biomarker measures. Qualifications Ph.D. and/or M.D. with specialization in Alzheimer’s disease, neurology, psychiatry, biochemistry, or a related field. The applicant must have an active federal research program; preference will be given to investigators at the Associate Professor level or above, though young investigators with NIH funding and high potential for scientific independence will be considered. Research experience in fluid biomarkers associated with ADRD, particularly identifying novel biomarkers, developing assays, and validating their utility. Application of statistical and data analysis techniques to interpret biomarker data. Ability to develop and lead a program of independent, extramurally funded research, including a record of leadership of major successful peer‑reviewed grant proposals. Academic credentials qualifying for appointment at Associate Professor level or above, with successful extramural funding and peer‑reviewed publications addressing Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders. Record of successful multi‑disciplinary collaboration and mentorship of students and early‑stage investigators. Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate findings to academic and non‑academic audiences. Ability to engage and communicate with study participants, community, and public policy leaders.
