Automatic Door Technician

Position Overview

This role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of automatic and manual door systems within a healthcare facility located in the Pacific Northwest region. The technician will ensure all door hardware and locking mechanisms operate safely and efficiently, contributing to a secure and accessible environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to safety and infection control protocols.
• Independently troubleshoot and repair door and locking system hardware, including keyed and electronic combo locks.
• Use hand tools, cutting tools, blueprints, and schematic diagrams to repair door frames and units.
• Fabricate various types of keys and perform minor carpentry tasks such as cutting holes for new locks on wood doors.
• Install, service, and repair automatic door opening and closing mechanisms, including electronic-eye operated systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and maintain organized technical manuals.
• Manage equipment inventory and order necessary parts following facility policies.
• Coordinate with external contractors and assist with daily shop operations.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards, maintaining clean and debris-free job sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a healthcare setting.
• Proficient with automatic doors, electronic locking systems, and related hardware.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for keyed and electronic locking systems.
• Familiarity with computer-based key tracking systems and diagnostic software.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and lift up to 100 lbs.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Licenses

• Valid regional driver's license required.
• Locksmith registration preferred.
