Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring SC or compact RN licensure and prior travel nursing experience.

Job Details

• Work in the ICU setting,
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM),
• Weekend shifts required,
• 1:2 patient ratio,
• Required to float within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals if needed,
• Epic charting system preferred,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (SC or Compact) required at time of consideration; no pending licenses accepted,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Previous travel nursing experience required,
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response,
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias,
• Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure,
• Proficient in IV therapy, arterial line, and central line management,
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips,
• Experience administering continuous IV sedation,
• Skilled in BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients,
• Able to interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs),
• Experience with ETT and NT suctioning,
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE use,
• Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred,
• Copy of certifications required for consideration,

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing services to ICU patients with complex, multisystem needs,
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility for local rate eligibility,
• Local candidates accepted at the local rate,
• Keep requests for time off to a minimum, especially during the first two weeks of the assignment,
• Any time-off requests must be approved and documented prior to the start of the assignment,
• Some holiday coverage expected,
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 5 years to be eligible,
