Essential Qualifications Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience. Experience applying construction and maintenance codes, standards and materials in day‑to‑day operations. Experience inspecting work performed by employees or contractors to ensure compliance with codes, standards and contract deliverables. Communication skills, demonstrating integrity and respect, and ability to work effectively with others. Asset Qualifications (May be applied as essential) Graduation from a post‑secondary institution with a technologist diploma in electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, construction engineering technology, project management, business management, facilities management or contract management. Possession of a valid provincial or territorial Journeyperson Certificate of Qualification, RedSeal designation, or Technical Qualification Level DP3B (QL6B) in the Canadian Armed Forces. Occupational licenses or certifications such as Backflow Prevention, Confined Space Entry, Cross Connection Control Specialist, Fall Arrest Training, Fire Safety, Lockout‑Tagout, Material Handling Equipment, Occupational Health and Safety, Rigging & Hoisting, WHMIS, first aid, etc. Experience supervising employees or contractors, managing facilities, and maintaining mechanical, electrical or structural systems. Experience planning and managing preventative or operations maintenance programmes, scheduling and supervising maintenance work, inspecting contractor performance, developing scope of work and estimates for low‑risk projects, providing technical advice on construction and maintenance, working in a multidisciplinary construction environment, and using Microsoft Office Suite. Operational Requirements Will work overtime and an on‑call schedule. Will work in extreme weather conditions. Will travel as necessary. Will obtain and maintain a DND404 driver’s licence. Possession of a valid provincial or territorial driver’s licence. Security Clearance Reliability status, security clearance – & Secret Security Clearance (requirements available upon request). Language Requirements English or French proficiency; either language is essential (EnglishorFrenchorbilingual).
