Registered Nurse - Neuro Med-Surg Tele

Location: Baltimore, MD

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)

Job Description: The Registered Nurse in the Neuro Med-Surg Tele unit will provide high-quality care to patients with neurologic diagnoses. The unit serves as a Telemetry overflow unit, focusing on diagnoses such as CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, and more. As a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, the candidate will engage in continuous monitoring and assessments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing care and monitoring for patients on telemetry.
• Administer medications and assist with medical procedures as necessary.
• Conduct assessments and document patient progress in Cerner.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float to other units as needed based on hospital needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 2 years of Med-Surg and Telemetry experience required.
• CVA/acute stroke care and pre/post-neurosurgery experience required.
• Experience with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries required.
• Valid RN license in Maryland or compact state license required upon submission.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required; TCRN preferred.
• Basic EKG assessment through Prophecy Relias required prior to orientation.
