Job Title: Mechanical Assembler

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling electrical and mechanical equipment and sub-assemblies, as well as testing powered suspended access equipment and related accessories. You work on complex assemblies with minimal supervision, follow detailed instructions and drawings, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced production environment. The primary schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, with early-day and afternoon shifts available.

Responsibilities

• Assemble complex electrical and mechanical components and sub-assemblies with little or no supervision.
• Complete assembly work in accordance with measured cycle times and production goals.
• Perform fit, function, and testing of assembled components under limited supervision to ensure proper operation and quality.
• Use required hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely and effectively according to verbal and written work instructions.
• Read and interpret moderately complex assembly drawings and standard work instructions to complete assigned tasks.
• Troubleshoot, repair, reassemble, and test assembled components under limited supervision when defects or issues arise.
• Perform daily 5S activities and continuously work to improve the performance and organization of the work cell.
• Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate willingness to learn a wide range of assembly methods and tasks.
• Follow all safety procedures while working in a production environment with welding, metal fabrication, forklifts, and trucks operating nearby.
• Lift, move, and position parts and assemblies weighing up to 50 pounds, and frequently bend, reach, and walk to obtain parts and materials.
• Work at bench stations with tools and parts, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the work area.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and support overall manufacturing operations.
• Perform any other tasks or duties as assigned or directed to support production needs.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
• Five or more years of electrical and mechanical assembly, installation, or repair experience.
• Ability to read and interpret moderately complex assembly drawings.
• Ability to read tape measures and similar measuring devices accurately.
• Ability to read and understand written standard work instructions.
• Ability to read and interpret calibrated equipment used in the assembly process.
• Strong knowledge of the use of all hand and powered tools commonly used in mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with limited supervision.
• Quick learner with strong attention to detail.
• Capability to stand for continuous periods of time and walk throughout the workday.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Good manual dexterity to use arms and hands to reach, finger, handle, and feel parts and tools.
• Clear vision and the ability to talk and hear in a production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working as a Level I or Level II mechanical assembler or in a similar role.
• Prior work experience in mechanical assembly within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working around welding, metal fabrication, forklifts, and trucks.
• Familiarity with 5S or other lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
• Ability to work effectively on both early morning and afternoon/evening shifts as needed.
• Strong problem-solving skills when troubleshooting assembly and testing issues.
• Ability to maintain focus and accuracy in a moderately noisy and busy production setting.

Work Environment

This position is based on the production floor alongside other manufacturing processes such as welding and metal fabrication, with a typically moderate noise level. Work takes place in a tight warehouse where forklifts and trucks move inside and outside the facility, and you will primarily work at bench stations surrounded by tools and parts. The warehouse is not insulated and is not brightly lit, so you should be comfortable working in varying temperatures and lighting conditions. You will stand for long periods, walk frequently, bend and reach to obtain parts, and lift up to 50 pounds independently. The role follows a Monday–Friday schedule, with a 5:00am–1:30pm, 6:00am–3:30pm, or 2:30pm–11:00pm shift structure depending on assignment, and significant overtime may be required during busy periods. A practical, safety-conscious attire suitable for a manufacturing and warehouse environment is expected.

This is a Contract position based out of Tukwila, WA.

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Tukwila,WA.
