This role provides proactive and retrospective financial counseling to patients, helping them navigate medical bills, financial assistance, and payment plans while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and federal regulations.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredUnderstanding of insurance billing, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial plans strongly preferredExperience with medical terminology and coding is a plusStrong computer, office, and math skillsKnowledge of medical billing processes, including Insurance Remittance Advice, Price Transparency Rules, and regulationsAbility to process monetary transactions accuratelyExcellent written, verbal, and telephone communication skillsProfessional demeanor with a focus on confidentiality and customer serviceEpic experience preferredKey ResponsibilitiesProvide financial counseling to patients regarding medical bills, payment plans, and financial assistanceReview patient documentation to determine eligibility for hospital financial assistance programsAssist patients with completing Financial Assistance applicationsCollect and post patient payments and establish payment plansEnsure Good Faith Estimates are provided in compliance with state and federal guidelinesMaintain adherence to payer reimbursement policies and federal healthcare program requirementsCollaborate with providers, clinical staff, and Revenue Cycle team members to ensure smooth patient workflowCommunicate clearly and professionally while maintaining confidentialityPerform other duties as assigned to support the department #J-18808-Ljbffr
