About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a leading, global, consumer-facing organization seeking an experienced Associate Counsel – Sales & Marketing to join its legal team.
This role sits at the intersection of consumer protection, marketing, and commercial strategy, supporting high-impact initiatives across multiple markets. You’ll work closely with business leaders to enable growth while ensuring compliance in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a strategic legal partner to sales, marketing, and commercial teams, advising on business initiatives across multiple regions
- Provide expert guidance on consumer protection laws, including U.S. federal and state regulations, FTC standards, and global equivalents
- Advise on advertising, digital marketing, e-commerce, and social media campaigns, ensuring compliance and brand integrity
- Support the design and rollout of customer-facing programs, including pricing strategies, promotions, loyalty programs, and bundled offerings
- Draft and oversee consumer-facing terms and conditions, policies, and contractual frameworks
- Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with B2C initiatives and marketing strategies
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments, translating them into practical, business-focused advice
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners across multiple jurisdictions
- Provide guidance on emerging issues, including influencer marketing, data-driven personalization, and AI in consumer engagement
Candidate Profile
- J.D. qualified with strong academic credentials and active bar membership
- 3–10 years’ legal experience, with a significant portion in-house at a consumer-facing organization
- Deep expertise in:
- Consumer protection and regulatory frameworks
- Advertising and marketing law
- Digital, social media, and e-commerce environments
- Proven ability to support high-volume B2C programs, including promotions, pricing, and loyalty structures
- Strong commercial mindset with the ability to deliver pragmatic, business-oriented advice
- Experience working across multiple jurisdictions and cross-functional teams
- Exposure to travel, hospitality, media, entertainment, or similar industries is highly desirable
- Familiarity with privacy, IP, and right of publicity issues is a plus
