UX Designer, Searching in Chrome

As a UX Interaction Designer, you’ll join our multi-disciplinary UX team, collaborating with Engineering and Product Management, leveraging user insights to create industry-leading products. You’ll always start from a user-centered app-first mindset to drive intuitive, highly engaging user journeys for our products. You’ll bring a builder's mindset with strong craft and the ability to make design decisions that result in a coherent user experience while also assessing for execution, longevity and scale of designs. You’ll have an aesthetic sensibility, understanding relevant trends to make design decisions that increase the overall appeal of our product set. You’ll be a systems thinker with the ability to analyze existing landscapes and consider how factors or components interrelate with each other and within the context of larger systems. You’ll bring AI fluency to effectively interact and prototype with AI tools, understand core AI concepts and limitations and critically assess desired outputs for accuracy. Chrome is where much of the web happens, and it's one of the biggest opportunities to change how people ask Google for help. As one of the UX Designers for Searching in Chrome, you'll partner closely with our Chrome counterparts to make searching on Chrome easy to access and easy to use, driving strategy and execution from early concepts through live experiments and launch.In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements, and provide creative, thoughtful solutions. Develop new UX patterns, components, and interaction frameworks, ensuring cohesion across various product areas and hosting surfaces. Communicate the user experience at various stages of the design process using wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, and high-fidelity prototypes. Integrate user feedback and business requirements to advocate for and prioritize design-centered changes and product experience updates. Formulate insights to drive design and product strategy, identifying opportunities for innovation and industry leadership in visual search. Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 6 years of interaction design experience in product design or UX design. Experience with motion design (e.g., page transitions, choreography of elements, and micro interactions). Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 3 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization. 2 years of experience leading design projects. Experience with visual design, systems design, and interaction frameworks. Experience with motion design, agentic prototyping, and AI tooling.
