Maintenance Supervisor

As a Maintenance Supervisor at Atlas Tube, Zekelman Industries in Kansas City, MO, you will lead and oversee the maintenance team to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and safety of all plant equipment. What You’ll Do Supervise, train, and mentor maintenance technicians to ensure efficient daily operations. Oversee and participate in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining plant machinery, including mills, welders, cutting systems, and material handling equipment. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies to maintain a safe working environment. Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and production disruptions, coordinating emergency repairs as needed. Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate procurement of required components. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and compliance documentation. Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support seamless operations and continuous improvement. Who You Are 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in steel manufacturing or heavy industry. 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience. Associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field (preferred). Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. Welding and fabrication experience (preferred). Proven problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues. Familiarity with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office. Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and industrial safety best practices. Effective communication and leadership skills with the ability to lead teams and influence outcomes. Physical Abilities Perform work in a manufacturing or plant environment. Stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the facility as required. Lift, carry, and handle materials as needed.
