Echocardiography Technologist
Schedule
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with a 1-hour lunch; weekends off. Call approximately every third week, requiring a minimum of 10 days per month, including holiday rotation.
Job Description
The Echocardiography Technologist performs adult transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, and dobutamine stress echocardiograms. The technologist assists in transesophageal echocardiography, adhering to established practices and procedures. They provide preliminary diagnostic evaluation and promptly notify cardiologists of examination results. Additionally, the technologist consults with cardiologists to establish requirements for non-standard examinations and determines the technical factors needed to satisfy those requirements.
Responsibilities
- Perform transthoracic and stress echocardiograms.
- Assist in transesophageal echocardiography procedures.
- Provide preliminary diagnostic evaluations to cardiologists.
- Consult with cardiologists on non-standard examination requirements.
- Notify cardiologists of examination results in a timely manner.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Relevant certification in echocardiography.
- Experience in performing echocardiograms.
- Strong communication skills for consulting with cardiologists.
